SDG 8 - DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
In 2023, the global unemployment rate was around 5.1 per cent (German only), with youth unemployment significantly higher in many regions. Unequal pay and insecure working conditions are still widespread and exacerbate the problem.
SDG 8 aims to promote sustainable, inclusive and durable economic growth. This includes increasing the annual per capita gross domestic product growth rate in less developed countries by at least 7 per cent (German only). To achieve this, economic productivity is to be promoted and decoupled from resource consumption. By 2030, the aim is also to achieve decent working conditions globally and to pay all workers equally for work of equal value. To make these goals more measurable and manageable, they have been defined in twelve targets.
Siegelklarheit has set itself the goal of informing consumers about credible standards that promote fair working conditions and sustainable business practices. This enables you as a consumer to make sustainable purchasing decisions and thus contribute to the promotion of decent work through your consumption.
